The eclectic Mr. Zito

Barry Zito is much more than just a baseball player. Zito is an avid surfer, practices yoga, is a voracious reader and comes from a musical family.
His father, Joe, was a conductor and composer who traveled with Nat King Cole. His mother, Roberta, was an operatic singer and played the violin. His older sister, Bonnie Jean, studied the flute and piano. Another sister, Sally, may be the most talented musician of the family.
Zito plays guitar in his sister's band, the Sally Zito Project, a burgeoning group based in Los Angeles. Their next gig, this Wednesday night in Scottsdale, Ariz., will help promote the newly released book by A's beat writer Mychael Urban: "ACES: The Last Season On the Mound With The Oakland A's Big Three."
You can listen to Zito and Sally's songs on sallyzito.com
